Tom Gilbert
+ Physiotherapist

Tom’s love for sport and exercise guided him into a career of Physiotherapy. Tom completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Australian Catholic University in 2016, and has been working in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy ever since.

Tom has worked extensively with elite athletes, being the Head Physiotherapist for the under 21’s Australian Water Polo team. This has fuelled his interest over the years in particularly assessing and rehabilitating shoulder and hip issues.

Tom incorporates various techniques into his management including dry needling, massage, myofascial trigger point release and a large focus on an individualised strength and biomechanics assessment.

Tom is experienced in managing both the swimming and running population, from individuals just starting out or competing at an elite level. Tom has been involved with running clubs and also a high volume of swimmers with his work around the pool, focusing on screening, programming and prescription of individualised exercise programs.

Outside of the clinic Tom enjoys ocean swimming, with a goal of eventually swimming the English Channel, distance running and surfing. Tom has recently returned from United Kingdom, spending 18 months working as a Physiotherapist in London.
