Jane Leathwood

Jane is a hand therapist at Total Physiotherapy and has worked there since 2013.

She qualified as a physiotherapist in England in 1992. After two years of working in general areas of physiotherapy, including orthopaedics and sports injuries, she pursued her interest in upper limb injuries at St Thomas’ Hospital in London.

For the next 16 years she worked in the field of Burns and Plastic Surgery, focusing on hand and upper limb trauma. She attained a Level 2 certificate with the British Association of Hand Therapists in 2010.

When she and her family moved to Australia in 2011, Jane trained as a Polestar Pilates instructor, and has been teaching clinical mat and equipment classes since October 2012, including a weekly class to the Sydney Symphony Orchestra musicians for 5 years.

She gained her Australian physiotherapy registration in June 2013 and has worked in the fields of hand therapy and clinical exercise ever since. She treats all aspects of hand and wrist injuries and pathologies and can fabricate custom-made splints if required as part of the treatment.

Jane likes to keep fit doing regular circuit classes in the park, Jazzercise and swimming.
