Exercise Physiology

Our Exercise Physiologists, Nathan McGrath, Jemma Hilliger and Jo Lindsay use evidence-based research to prescribe and implement exercise as a health intervention. When prescribed via the correct modalities and dosages, exercise can be a powerful tool to improve the health status of many chronic conditions. Exercise Physiologists can also be an integral part of
musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

An Exercise Physiologist can provide support a broad range of conditions and needs, including:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Pulmonary disease
  • Metabolic disease
  • Neurological disease
  • Musculoskeletal disease
  • Depressions and other mental health conditions
  • Cancer
  • Healthy ageing and falls prevention
  • Athletic performance and fitness

Whilst you are under the care of an Exercise Physiologist, they will discuss your goals, guide and support a structured exercise and lifestyle program, including education that allows you to take control of your activity and health. It is our aim to empower each individual to feel comfortable in managing their own lifestyle. Exercise Physiologists transition individuals into self-management through progressively loading the body, facilitating behaviour change and supporting your wellness for life.

Exercise Physiologists are chronic health experts and will consider all conditions that you may be managing. Through discussing your goals, an exercise and supervision program will be formulated to best support your individual needs and journey to a stronger healthier self.
