Laura is a passionate and caring Physiotherapist with two main areas of interest being that of women’s health physiotherapy and clinical exercise-based rehabilitation.
She believes in a hands-on approach to physiotherapy using manual therapy and muscle release techniques in conjunction with appropriate exercises and self-release techniques. She is a strong advocate in appreciating that no two bodies are the same and therefore no two treatments should be either.
Laura grew up in Scotland and graduated from Queen Margaret University (Edinburgh) with a BSc (Honours) Physiotherapy in 2005, where she worked for 4 years as a rotational physiotherapist. Laura moved to Australia in 2009, joining the Total Physiotherapy Team, where she then focused on MSK Physiotherapy and Clinical Exercise, completing training with The Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute. Laura’s passion lies with identifying and treating muscle imbalance, which she successfully integrates with Clinical Exercise as a proven rehabilitation tool.
You are most likely to find Laura in the Total Physiotherapy Clinical Exercise Studio guiding clients through their individual exercise programs or instructing mat classes. Since having her first child in 2014, she understands the need for a strong mind and body to assist you through pregnancy, birth and the post-natal period, which she does with care and passion. Laura has completed training in the field of Women’s Health, enabling her to assess and treat pelvic floor dysfunctions, continence issues & pre/post natal conditions.
In her spare time you will find Laura enjoying time with her family on the beautiful Northern Beaches, reading, doing a reformer class or two and keeping busy being Mum to her three children.
