Sarah Pedersen is a Physiotherapist at Total Physiotherapy Manly Vale in Sydney’s Northern Beaches with expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports injury rehabilitation, post-operative rehabilitation and clinical pilates. With more than 12 years of clinical experience her areas of expertise include:

• Neck pain
• Shoulder pain
• Lower back pain
• Tendinopathies
• Clinical Pilates rehabilitation
Sarah completed a Bachelor of Health Science and Human Movement followed by a Master of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. She has also worked with men’s soccer and rugby union teams, developing extensive experience in sports injury management.
Her evidence-based treatment approach combines comprehensive assessment, whole-body biomechanical analysis, hands-on manual therapy, dry needling and individual exercise and movement analysis. Sarah works with active adults, adolescents, older adults and post-surgical patients to reduce pain, restore movement and return to sport and active living. Helping patients achieve long-term recovery while reducing the risk of future injury. Sarah commonly sees patients for:
• Knee pain, ligament injuries, patellofemoral pain, tendinopathies and rehabilitation following knee surgery.
• Shoulder pain, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder instability, sporting injuries and post-operative shoulder rehabilitation.
• Neck pain, lower back pain, spinal dysfunction and movement-related musculoskeletal conditions affecting work, sport and everyday function.
• Sports injuries, including muscle strains, tendon injuries, running-related injuries, exercise rehabilitation and return-to-sport planning.
• Post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation and fracture rehabilitation.
• Balance training and falls prevention
• Pilates-based rehabilitation when appropriate to improve movement, build strength and support recovery after injury
Sarah is passionate about mentoring junior physiotherapists and currently co-leads the musculoskeletal team.
Outside the clinic, Sarah has a lifelong passion for sport, having participated in basketball, netball, tennis, soccer and athletics. She enjoys stand-up paddleboarding, touch football and futsal, giving her a genuine understanding of the physical demands of sport and the importance of movement in our lives.
